... contestants couldn't understand her?! Yes, that's what a British newspaper reports by way of explaining Cheryl Cole's sudden and mysterioius departure from "The X Factor's" judging panel...

She does have that lilting north country accent -- guess you'd call it "geordie" -- but hardly difficult to understand her. I'll bet Paula wanted her out ...

The Telegraph reports that: 

 After struggling, particularly in the last two auditions in Chicago, she has been dumped from her much-hyped job as a judge – having been on camera for a paltry total of four days. During that time, she was booed by the audience and became tearful when asked to repeat herself. At one point, she asked a contestant where he was from and he thought she was asking how old he was.
