CNN names a new host of 'Reliable Sources' and he is...
"Reliable Sources," a CNN Sunday fixture for many years and long ably hosted by Howard Kurtz until he recently left for Fox News, has named a new host: Brian Stelter.
Stelter — now the former media reporter for The New York Times — was also named senior media correspondent for the network.
Here's CNN chief's Jeff Zucker's news release quote:
“Brian has emerged as one of the top media reporters in the country and will be a great addition to our many platforms,” said Jeff Zucker, president of CNN Worldwide. “He grew up in the digital space, and has covered the media industry for his entire career. Brian has a keen understanding of this field — as both a journalist covering the industry and as an innovator — first, by creating his own digital platform, and second, by also leveraging the countless ways information is disseminated to enhance his storytelling. I’m thrilled to welcome him to CNN to this newly broadened role.”
No hyperbole here: Stelter, while in college, launched a must-see website (TVNewser) and was snapped up by the Times after he graduated. An excellent reporter and graceful writer, he brought to the paper an added bonus — he was and very much remains a savvy player in the "social media space."
Suffice it to say, great hire by CNN .?.?.
