It's looking like Kree Harrison will beat out Candice Glover as the next American Idol
Will Kree Harrison really be all cried out, or will she shed tears of joy on tonight’s “American Idol”? Or will Candice Glover, who reprised “I Who Have Nothing” last night, prove she’s really something by taking the “Idol” crown?
Kreedom seems to have a slight edge according to our team of "Idol" psychics, with five of our nine prognosticators expecting the toast of Texas to be named the season 12 winner tonight. Though Simon Fuller’s choice of “Angel” (complete with the subtle touch of giant blue wings hanging over Kree’s shoulders) inspired more ZZZZs than “AWWWWs” and the original song “All Cried Out” brought tears of sadness because of the insipid lyrics, Kree hit her peak with “Up on the Mountain” (complete with smoke and a heavenly chorus), a reprise from Las Vegas week. And unless your heart is as snowcapped as that mountain, you can’t help but to be moved by her backstory.
Four of our psychics are still pulling for Candice, who did her jazzy thang on Adele’s “Chasing Pavements” and even managed to make her sappy original song “I Am Beautiful” sound palatable. But it was her final number, “I Who Have Nothing”—which had a dramatic a cappella opening--that really showed Candice is in it to win it.
