It's now officially heating up, friends: The question of who will replace Katie Couric, if Katie goes. My suggestion: Lara Logan.

I'll give you reasons, chapter and verse, why this would work and why she would be an excellent choice. In  Monday's TV Zone. Check back then.

But a cautionary note: There's a lot of talk out there right now about Couric leaving, but nothing - repeat nothing - is official, and I should remind you that a media frenzy over her replacement/departure comes around every so often, like an errant comet on an irregular journey around the sun.  As I relayed in this blog earlier - and there has been some good trade reporting on this, too - there does appear to be real movement, and change could happen by June.
