The cable network Lifetime will air "The Brittany Murphy Story," a TV-movie dramatizing the life of the late actress, reports Newsday contributor Frank Lovece. The telefilm will air Sept. 6, Lifetime said, and cover her mother Sharon Murphy's drive to make Murphy a star in such films as "Clueless" and "Girl, Interrupted," and her support of her daughter through the actress' subsequently troubled personal life. The Hollywood Reporter added Wednesday that Amanda Fuller will star as the late actress and that Sharon Murphy was not consulted on the film. Brittany Murphy died in 2009 at age 32 of pneumonia, anemia and prescription drug intoxication.
