The gay-oriented cable channel Logo has announced the cast of its upcoming reality show “Fire Island,” set in the community of Fire Island Pines and scheduled to air this spring.

The show follows a group of young professionals summering together in a beachfront share house in the traditionally LGBTQ community. The housemates include Kings Park native Justin Russo, a New York City-based artist and illustrator; Khasan Brailsford, whom Logo describes as “a dancer on break from his successful career after performing with pop legends like Beyoncé, Rihanna and Lady Gaga”; his best friend, Jorge Bustillos, who left his career as a doctor in Venezuela in order to move to New York, where he works as a marketing strategist; Patrick McDonald, who is recovering from a breakup; Brandon Osorio, a photographer and New York University student; and entrepreneur and model Cheyenne Parker.

Russo, who has a bachelor of fine arts degree from NYU, has created murals for New York City’s Department of Housing and for singer-songwriter Billy Joel, according to an online gallery of his work. After graduating college in 2008, he was an assistant of acclaimed Japanese contemporary artist Takashi Murakami for about a year and a half. He went on to work as a gallery associate at Vivian Horan Fine Art on the Upper East Side.

“Fire Island” is from Kelly Ripa and her husband Mark Consuelos’ Milojo Productions, whose projects have included the Emmy-nominated documentary “The Streak” for ESPN and the Native American documentary “Off The Rez” for TLC, both of which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. Also producing are Albert Bianchini (the 2014 Logo series “Secret Guide to Fabulous”) and Lenid Rolov, whose many reality shows included “Princesses: Long Island.”

“We fell in love with Fire Island years ago the minute we stepped off the ferry,” “Live with Kelly” host Ripa, 46, and actor-producer Consuelos said in a statement. “We’re excited to share the long-standing magic of the island with this new series and to be working again with our Logo family.”
