Fans of "Mad Men" have wondered exactly how their beloved show would handle January Jones' real-life pregnancy after having returned from that long, long (long) hiatus. Would she be pregnant on the show? On simply not be on the show?

And last night, an answer: She has gained weight, in part because she eats an awful lot (including finishing Sally's ice cream) which is perhaps symptomatic of some sort of hollow gnawing sadness/existential desperation (not that Betty is necessarily prone to the latter) related to living in that vast dark strange dungeon Henry Francis calls "home" and which she must now call home as well.

( How about that dungeon, just to segue? You could get lost in the shadows of that gothic spread -- a gloomy, lightless, penumbras hole. Can't blame Betty for eating compulsively.)

The side story to this had to do with a possible cancerous tumor adjacent to a thyroid gland. She calls up Don: "Tell me what you always say..." or words to that effect,

 Don: "...everything will be OK."

 Everything was.
