Port Jefferson native and WCBS/2 anchor Maurice DuBois, said in a Facebook post Tuesday that he has been off the air since New Year’s Eve because he’s undergoing treatment for Bell’s palsy, a condition that causes muscular weakness on one side of the face.
In the post, DuBois, 50, wrote: “I’m taking some time off because I’ve been diagnosed with Bell’s Palsy, a temporary condition which has caused weakness on the right side of my face. My doctors say the prognosis is good once it runs its course. Thanks so much for your concern and well-wishes; I look forward to getting back to work as soon as possible.”
DuBois, a former “Today in New York” co-anchor, joined Channel 2 in 2004.
