Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard will appear in the sixth season of History channel's "Vikings," the network announced Wednesday. According to a History news release, the 26-year-old Syndergaard, who is nicknamed "Thor," "will play the character 'Thorbjorn,' a Viking warrior who is loyal to Ivar the Boneless (Alex Høgh Andersen) who he sees as a God on earth. "

The network added that the cameo will be shot this week in Ireland, where the series is in production.

This will be Syndergaard's third prime-time cameo. His first was billed simply as "Viking," in a 2016 Halloween episode of "Kevin Can Wait." He later appeared in a 10-second battlefield sequence as a Lannister foot soldier in the 2017 "Game of Thrones" episode "Spoils of War."

"Vikings" is a major hit for History, averaging about 11 million viewers per week "across all platforms," according to the channel. No word on when Syndergaard's Thorbjorn will make his entrance. The series returns for its sixth season on Nov 28.
