Keke Palmer to host 'Password' reboot

Singer-actor Keke Palmer will host NBC's prime-time reboot of the venerable game show "Password" this summer. The network announced Tuesday that the former "Scream Queens" and upcoming "Nope" star will preside over contestants partnered with late-night talk-show host Jimmy Fallon and other celebrities in the word-guessing game that ran originally on CBS, in syndication and on ABC with some breaks from 1961 to '75. It resurfaced as NBC's "Password Plus" from 1979 to '82 and "Super Password" from 1984 to '89, and as CBS' "Million Dollar Password" from 2008 to '09.

Fallon has featured a "Password" segment both on his "Tonight Show" and his previous "Late Night." "Starting a new job today! I'm hosting the classic game show PASSWORD with @jimmyfallon!! Wish me luck :)," Palmer, 28, wrote on Instagram and Facebook Tuesday. On Wednesday she added a short Instagram video with Fallon, in which the two do a comic bit conflating the show title "Password" and her need for a Wi-Fi password. The premiere episode will be dedicated to the recently deceased comedy star Betty White — widow of original "Password" host Allen Ludden and a regular "Password" celebrity guest for decades up through "Late Night."
