A TV-series pilot from Robert Downey Jr.'s production company has shot for five days in Point Lookout.

"Constance," a drama pilot for TNT starring Elisabeth Shue, filmed in the Nassau County community Oct. 25-26, then again Oct. 30, and on Thursday and Friday. The locales included Lido Boulevard and Ted's Fishing Station, a boat-rental and fueling facility with an attached bar, The Shell Shack. Additional spots represented the story locales "City Hall" and "Cape May Beach."

The pilot follows former beauty queen turned small-town bureaucrat Constance Young, who after her husband's death tries to avoid financial ruin by embezzling from the town and attempting to become successful in cosmetics direct-sales. The cable network describes the tone as "a fun, darkly humorous, veneer-stripping story." Kevin Dunn plays Young's boss, City Manager Dale Fogerty, and Sharon Gless her mother, Raylynn.

Written by K.C. Perry, a story editor on "The Originals," and directed by Jesse Peretz, whose credits include episodes of Netflix's "Orange Is the New Black" and "G.L.O.W." and HBO's "Divorce" and "Girls," the pilot is produced by Team Downey — the husband-and-wife team of Robert Downey Jr. and Susan Downey — in association with Sonar Entertainment and Studio T.

Point Lookout, within the Town of Hempstead, has also served as a locale for such productions as the HBO 2011 miniseries "Mildred Pierce," the CBS series "Person of Interest" and the upcoming Bruce Willis-Alec Baldwin movie, "Motherless Brooklyn."
