Sawyer Sweeten dead: 'Everybody Loves Raymond' actor, 19, commits suicide

Sawyer Sweeten, a child actor who played one of the twins on the Long Island-set sitcom "Everybody Loves Raymond," has died of an apparent suicide, according to reports. He was 19.
Sweeten played Geoffrey Barone opposite his real-life twin brother, Sullivan, who played Michael. Their older sister, Madylin, played their onscreen big sister, Ally.
The siblings starred with Ray Romano and Patricia Heaton, who played their parents, Ray and Debra.
"This morning a terrible family tragedy has occurred," Madylin Sweeten said in a statement sent to USA Today, The Associated Press and other outlets by Sawyer's manager, Dino May.
"We are devastated to report that our beloved brother, son, and friend, Sawyer Sweeten, took his own life. He was weeks away from his 20th birthday. At this sensitive time, our family requests privacy and we beg of you to reach out to the ones you love."
Radar Online first reported the news of Sweeten's death Thursday night. The site reports he was visiting family in Texas, where he was believed to have shot himself that day on their front porch.
The brothers from Brownwood, Texas, were 16 months old when they first appeared on the show, and went on to star in 139 episodes.
Romano starred as a (fictional) Newsday sportswriter on the CBS sitcom that ran from 1996-2005.
Sawyer Sweeten's other listed credits were a 2002 movie starring Randy Quaid, and appearing in one episode of the TV show "Even Stevens." IMDB listed no credits after "Raymond" left the air.
