Scott Baio is back - back in a  new Nick at Nite sitcom, "See Dad Run," launching Oct. 14, and previewing Oct. 6. I make note of this because Baio played one of the more beloved characters - a couple of  'em in fact - a few decades ago. Chachi! But Nick a bit inaccurately bills this as his "long-awaited home-coming to primetime" which isn't entirely true: "Arrested Development" fans know that. But he hasn't had a whole lot of primetime exposure since the mid-90s, with "Diagnosis Murder."

Speaking of Baio, Clint Eastwood recently said at the RNC during his chair chat that there are many Hollywood conservatives - here's one of 'em!

The thru-line on the new show:

A multi-camera scripted half-hour, the series follows David Hobbs (Baio) an actor who, after ten years of starring as America’s favorite TV dad, becomes a stay-at-home father while his soap star wife (Alanna Ubach, Legally Blonde) makes her return to the limelight. Mark Curry (Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper) also stars as David’s friend, Marcus.
