Sue Simmons, dropped in June after a long (32 years long) run at WNBC/4, spoke to Joy Behar who also does a show for Current (which is a TV network, by the way). It aired a little while ago. Other than to her pal Cindy Adams, Sue hasn't spoken (much) about this in a public forum, though it was certainly well-known how unhappy she was about the "transition."  She spells it out here. She said they - the station - kept Chuck Scarborough because he was more "engaged," whatever that means, and that the ridiculously inflated salary figures (she must be talking about the ones the Post printed - ba dum!) were wildly  inflated.
