In one of the most complicated episodes of "Survivor," Wednesday's edition of the 41st season, featuring Plainview middle-school teacher Tiffany Seely, upended the traditional merging of the tribes.

The season opened with three tribes — Luvu, Ua, and Yase, with Seely, 47, part of Yase.

On this sixth episode of the season, the three tribes merged not into a single tribe but into two five-person teams, Blue and Yellow, with Seely on the latter; two players were on no team. All players, including Seely, survived the episode, which had no tribal council elimination.

One dramatic highlight was Seely's new teammate Shantel "Shan" Smith who asked Seely's former Yase tribe-member Liana Wallace about some key strategic information — unthinkingly in front of Seely, who then also became privy to it.
