"The Blacklist" is on the Gold Coast.

For a two-day shoot Monday and Tuesday, the NBC drama starring James Spader and Megan Boone is turning the venerable Youngs Farm of Old Brookville into a trio of Iowa locations. The main farm stand on Hegemans Lane is being dressed to look like a hardware store, one of the barns will impersonate a feed-storage facility and "the roads surrounding the farm will be the site of a police checkpoint and a car-and-foot chase on the show," says a spokeswoman for Sony Pictures Television, a producer of the show along with Davis Entertainment.

The episode, "Eli Machette," is scheduled to air third in Season 3, which begins Oct. 1. Directed by Syracuse University grad Steven Adelson, a "Blacklist" veteran whose credits include Syfy's "Helix" and CBS' "Zoo," it involves a corporate takeover entailing sabotage and murder. The scenes shot at Youngs include Spader, said farm manager Tim Dooley.

"They showed up with the equipment and stuff around 4:30 in the morning and started shooting at around 7," said Thomas Marshall, one of the Youngs farmers on site Monday to watch the property and assist the filming. "They'll be here till about 8 and they're shooting tomorrow as well.""We do film shoots two or three times a year so we're pretty familiar with it," said Dooley, who notes that the farm's proximity to New York keeps it within the 60-mile radius beyond which production companies incur additional union costs. "We did 'Madam Secretary' and 'Blue Bloods' this year."
