Anthony Atamanuik — considered by some to be TV’s best Donald Trump impersonator — will get his own series on Comedy Central, playing . . . Donald Trump. The network announced Monday that Atamanuik will star in a Thursday night 11:30 series called “The President Show,” beginning April 27.

A veteran of Upright Citizens Brigade, Atamanuik has been performing his Trump for more than a year, notably on Comedy Central’s “@midnight with Chris Hardwick,” while his “debate” between his Trump and fellow comedian James Adomian’s Bernie Sanders has been a YouTube hit (both Adomian and Atamanuik also took the “debate” on a 40-city tour).

Atamanuik also appeared to invite the scorn of fellow Trump impersonator Alec Baldwin during a recent talk show appearance. Baldwin noted that Atamanuik — whom he did not refer to by name — had been lobbying to perform at the White House Correspondents dinner later this month. Baldwin said he had also considered appearing at the dinner.

In a statement, Comedy Central said of the new weekly series, “In the world of ‘The President Show,’ Trump is bypassing the crooked media by hosting a late-night show direct from the Oval Office. No unfair questions from reporters, no awkward photo ops with German ladies, and no bedtimes. Just a fun show where he can put his unique Trumpian spin on such late-night staples as desk segments, field pieces and guest interviews.”

Vice President Mike Pence, played by Peter Grosz (“Veep,” Sonic commercials), will be featured as Trump’s sidekick.
