I know what it's like to try to find things to do with your kids when you're dying to get out of the house. My 15-month-old has a field day in our backyard, but there are times when I just want to go for a drive and explore places I've never been to that I know she'd enjoy.
For the past few months I've been busy scouting locations around Nassau and Suffolk that are kid and family-friendly. Some of the places I found are geared toward kids, for example, Adventureland and the Long Island Children's Museum, while others are unexpected, such as Old Westbury Gardens and the Nassau Museum of Art. Many of these places you've probably been to before while others you'll be eager to explore.
So, here I present the top 100 things every kid should do on Long Island before they grow up. From the historical Nunley's Carousel to the Fire Island Lighthouse, one thing is for sure: there are so many fun things to do on Long Island with kids.
