Earlier this year, a study conducted by Watch, a British TV channel, found that one in five parents surveyed skip reading classic fairy tales, such as "Cinderella" and "Rumpelstiltskin," to their children because they're too scary.

In fact, one-third of the 2,000 parents reported their children were actually brought to tears when the Big Bad Wolf gobbles up Grandma at the end of "Little Red Riding Hood."

While some are opting to leave these classics out of their kids' bedtime routines, there is another solution.

Check out "My1story" books.

Each storybook, written by Ricardo Venegas and illustrated by Jamie Rodriguez, introduces classic characters in a new story twist. The never scary illustrations transform sinister players into lovable characters with sweet, happy endings.

In "Lil' Riding Hood & Wolfie I Love Cake," the Big Bad Wolf is more of a mischievous, but approachable, wolf cub. The tale continues on course but with a happy ending of friendship, the importance of sharing and, of course, cake!

"Jack's Beanstalks in Jack and the Magic Beans," the giant is still quite large, but he's a younger version named Beanie who chants "Fe Fi Fo Fum" with his stuffed toy Goosy. On his way down the beanstalk, Jack learns an important lesson about taking something without permission.

The books are $12.99 exclusively on amazon.com and are appropriate for ages 3 and up. There are also plus toys available as well for $14.99.
