'Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day'review
You never know what you are going to get when a favorite childhood book is made into a movie. This was our thought as we waited for the movie "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day" to begin. We liked the book by Judith Viorst. Well, we have great news . . . this movie rocked! It took the story from the book and brought Alexander and his ridiculousness alive . . . but in a different way. Alexander (Ed Oxenbould) made a special wish to have people feel his "pain" in having a rough day and it came true!
We laughed out loud at so many parts because the actors made the movie so funny. Jennifer Garner and Steve Carell were a great pair as Alexander's parents, along with all the kids.
One of our favorite parts was when the dad's bad day started, he was chasing the kangaroo, tripped, and did a crazy belly flop onto the sidewalk. The kangaroo wasn't going to let him go. He did a karate move to push the dad away. It was a battle of the animals.
Another favorite part was when the baby brother got hold of the marker and colored his face all green. We couldn't believe this happened to the poor kid.
We were laughing so hard when the family was driving in the car and they were all humming different tunes.
This movie was very funny but there was also a strong message to all you kids. The movie showed that even if you have a bad day, as long as you have your family, everything will be OK!
