Barnes & Noble caters to teens with B-Fest
Authors Danielle Paige, Jen Calonita, Elizabeth Eulberg, Kieran Scott, and Aimee Friedman, who write books for teens, will be on a author panel at Barnes & Noble at 91 Old Country Rd. in Carle Place at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 11, as part of B-Fest, Barnes & Nobles’ first U.S. teen book festival at Barnes & Noble stores nationwide. They will be speaking and signing copies of their books.
That’s just one of the events planned for B-Fest, which will run from Friday, June 10, to Sunday, June 12. In addition to Carle Place, participating Long Island stores include the Barnes & Nobles at 1542 Northern Blvd. in Manhasset, at 5224 Sunrise Highway in Massapequa Park, 600 Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove, 4000 E. Jericho Tpke. in East Northport and 842 Sunrise Highway in Bay Shore.
B-Fest includes at least four cornerstone events happening at all stores. They include:
n B-In the Know at 7 p.m. Friday. Teens can be part of a Trivia Blast based on teen books created by Penguin Teen and Random House’s First In Line. One winner per store will be added to Penguin’s Teen Advance Reader Copy mailing list for one year.
n B-First at 11 a.m. Saturday. Teens will receive chapter samplers of upcoming book releases while supplies last.
n B-Part of the Fun at 2 p.m. Saturday. Games and activities featuring popular teen book series. Prizes include tote bags, notebooks and more. Cosplay is encouraged. (Carle Place is doing this event in conjunction with the author panel.)
n B-Creative at 2 p.m. Sunday. Teens can participate in a story development workshop.
