We met with actor Miles Brown who stars as Jack Johnson on ABC’s “Black-ish,” in Bryant Park in Manhattan. We had the best day with him, and afterward we went on the rides with him in the park.

Which co-star do you like the most in “Black-ish”?

I think Anthony [Anderson] is probably the funniest because he’s always joking around and he always uses all the set props like toys but they’re actual food. He eats, like, the set apples. I think he’s probably one of my favorites. But I think all of them because they all feel like my real family.

If you had to make a choice, which show would you like the most — the “Ellen DeGeneres Show” or “ Black-ish”?

That’s a hard one because I love both. Ellen, she’s really funny. I don’t know. I like both the same because I feel I had a real fun experience being on that show.

What do you do when you’re not acting?

I like to just hang out with my friends and play basketball and play video games, a lot of video games. But I just like to have fun and still go to school, I guess. But I just like to have fun.

How does it feel being on the TV show “Yo Gabba Gabba”?

That was a long time ago. That was really fun. That, I think, was my first actual dancing or acting job. I was about maybe 4 years old and my friend’s dad — he works for “Yo Gabba Gabba” — said maybe since I dance I could be on one of the episodes. It was really fun doing that.

If you weren’t an entertainer, what would you like to become?

When I grow up I still want to be an NBA player because I really like to play basketball, but I’m not sure. Maybe probably a musician like my dad or maybe, I don’t know. That’s a good question.

Who inspired you to start dancing and rapping?

My dad. He always travels a lot to different places and since he does music, like different tours and stuff . . . sometimes he would have dancers come on stage and dance to a song. So he would bring back different videos of them dancing and especially Michael Jackson, James Brown really inspired me to start dancing. My dad would usually start helping me, writing up songs and raps and stuff. That’s how I started dancing rap.

So how was your experience being on “America’s Got Talent”?

That was really fun, I think, and that was my first time or my second time being on TV and that was a really cool experience. Me and my good friend Bailey we were called Future Funk and we did “America’s Got Talent” and we went to the semifinals.

What is your favorite song?

I love a lot of songs because I don’t like just one artist, I guess. I love a bunch of artists. One of my favorite artists is Kendrick Lamar. He just came out with a new album “Untitled Unmastered.” I just like songs that make me dance.

What is your favorite subject to learn?

My favorite subject is science because you can do a bunch of different things. I think probably I would have said math, but it’s like my school always focuses on math, we always do math like probably 95 percent of the time.

I know you want to be a professional basketball player. Would you give up acting and dancing for basketball?

That’s a good question. I guess when I grow up I’m not really sure. I still love to act and dance. You could do acting when you’re dancing, and dancing when you’re acting. But sometimes you also like playing basketball when you’re acting and dancing. I’m not sure yet. I love all three.

How did you find out you were talented and when?

I guess I just really knew that I wanted to do something and just kept doing it and I kept doing it until I got better and better at it. My dad would just keep saying it and that’s how I got my nickname Party Time and Baby Boogaloo. That was my dance name because me and my dad would try and go to do different dance competitions and stuff but then all of a sudden I needed a dance name and I never really had a dance name. I came up with Baby Boogaloo and when I started doing “Black-ish” I still was a dancer but Anthony gave me the nickname Party Time because I’m always hyper and stuff like that. I guess when I just knew that I wanted to do something I just kept doing it until I got better.

How did it feel being at the White House and running the Fun Run with Michelle Obama?

It was a real fun experience. I think it was more special than last year because it was [President] Obama’s last year. It was really fun being there. . . . Just staying and doing the Fun Run, this was the first year we did the Fun Run. So getting to do that for the first year was really awesome. We also did the story time there. Me and the rest of the cast of “Black-ish” did the Story Time stage. That was really fun. It was as real cool experience being there.
