We read a few books in the series "World Soccer Legends" (Abbeville Press), including Illugi Jokulsson's book, "Real Madrid: The Most Successful Club in the World." We read about Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. If you like soccer and want to read about the very best in the world, this series is for you. We thought these books might be boring, but they are so interesting. If you play soccer, you will like this series even more.

'ABOVE WORLD: MIRAGE'

"Above World: Mirage" (Candlewick Press) is the second of three books in the Above World series.
In this science-fiction book, the four main characters are Aluna and Hoku, both ocean-dwelling Kampii who live in the city called the City Shifting Tides; Calli, a winged, air-dwelling person, and Dash, a horselike Equian on exile for betraying his country by letting an enemy free from interrogation.
These four friends are on a mission to head to the city of Mirage, home of the Red Sky people. The book would be most appealing to kids interested in adventure or science-fiction books. There are many plot twists, and the great imagery used in the book makes readers actually feel like they are in the place.

'KATE WALDEN DIRECTS: NIGHT OF THE ZOMBIE CHICKENS

In Kate Walden Directs: Night of the Zombie Chickens" (Disney Hyperion), Kate is a seventh grader who wants to become a Hollywood director. She is making her debut film, and the star is her best friend, Alyssa. But after a few incidents with Kate and the most popular girl in school, Lydia, Alyssa ditches Kate and decides to hang out with other girls. Kate soon becomes the laughingstock of the grade. This leaves Kate unable to finish her movie because she does not have her main actor. Kate hatches a plot against her former best friend to show her what it is like to be rejected. This book is fun to read, with some emotional and touching moments.
