Bridgehampton beaches are the best

Bridgehampton is near the end of Long Island, and that means there is always a beach nearby. It is a great place to go to feel the sand under your feet as summer comes to an end.

There are many beaches in Bridgehampton, one of which is Mecox Beach. Mecox (Jobs Lane) has an ocean and a bay side to it. You need a Southampton Town beach sticker during the season if you don’t want to pay a $25 parking fee. If you are looking for a nice day at the beach, I would pay the $25 and go.

At the end of Ocean Road, there is a beach unofficially called Ocean Road Beach. This beach is much better for just hanging out on the sand — not swimming, because there aren’t any lifeguards — but it is still a really nice beach.

Another great place in Bridgehampton is W. Scott Cameron Beach (Dune Road), and this is my favorite in the area. It has a pretty big parking lot with bathrooms, but you do need the Southampton Town sticker. Like Mecox, it has a bay as well as an ocean. This beach has lifeguards.

Sagg Main Beach (Sagg Main St., Sagaponack) is over in the next town to the east. It is a very quiet beach but is sometimes cold. This beach does allow dogs outside of the flagged areas all day long, while other beaches allow pets only very early in the morning or after 6 p.m.

Bridgehampton is a very nice place with many beaches. Each beach has its own unique qualities for both kids and adults.

There is probably no better place to go, especially in late summer and early fall when all the big crowds have left.
