'Cooking Class' review: Kid-friendly cuisine
Have you ever wanted to make your own food? Well, now you can, with a kid-friendly book called "Cooking Class: 57 Fun Recipes Kids Will Love to Make (and Eat!)," by Deanna F. Cook (Storey Publishing). We made two recipes from the book, Bow Tie Pasta With Tomatoes, Basil and Fresh Mozzarella and Very Vanilla Pudding.
The ingredients were easy to find and the recipes were easy to make. The book had detailed pictures to go along with each step. The book also gave you instructions on how to perform different cooking techniques.
Our first recipe was the bow tie pasta. The ingredients were pasta, mozzarella, basil, olive oil, garlic and tomatoes. We learned that it was easy to cut basil with scissors. This recipe was really simple because all you had to do was dump all the ingredients in a bowl and mix it. We loved it!
The next recipe we made was the vanilla pudding. This recipe required separating eggs -- it was really fun. The best part of this recipe is that you can add toppings. On the pudding, we put whipped cream, cookie crumbs and chocolate chips. The pudding tasted amazing.
