A third Family FilmFest — with a theme of Fantastic Journeys — takes place at The Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center, 76 Main St., Westhampton Beach at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday, May 9. The festival features short films — most of them without any dialogue — including one about a space-alien potato, another about the the creation of the alphabet, a third about a kid who always carries around a saucepan. The program runs for about an hour.

“It’s back by popular demand,” says Jodi Giambrone, manager of marketing and public relations for the Performing Arts Center. This festival’s films come from the Seattle Children’s Film Festival. The Arts Center plans to have a fourth FilmFest in the fall, Giambrone says.

Tickets are $5 at whbpac.org or 631-288-1500.
