Five great places to visit in Sayville for kids, family

Sayville was founded by John Edwards in 1761. In 1994 it was designated “the friendliest town in America,” and we happen to agree.
There are so many wonderful places to visit, and we have highlighted some for you. Come for the day and eat, play and shop. It is also the perfect getaway spot if you want to take a quick trip to Fire Island. Coming or going to Fire Island will lead you to Sayville, and you will find so many great places to visit. You won’t be disappointed.
Sweet Gourmet: Have a sweet tooth? We suggest you visit this sweet shop. It has a wondrous assortment of chocolate, including Godiva. Sweet Gourmet also offers unique hot cocoa mixtures infused with saffron and cardamom. Sweet Gourmet has a great assortment of candy, including lollipops, gumdrops and jelly beans. Crickets: This is a great restaurant. It has really good steak, burgers and fries. It also has a fireplace if you’re cold and a popcorn machine (and it is free, which is the best part). Crickets has the best seafood, too. The seafood special is the lobster roll. One of the best appetizers that we have tried there is the onion soup, which you can dip your bread into. It’s at 98 N. Five Points Cafe: It is one of the best cafes in Sayville. You don’t need to have a reservation to get good seating. You can sit outside or in. It has live entertainment. It serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. We recommend the burgers — they’re so delicious. For breakfast, you can get the Short Stack. It has fresh homemade soups daily. Sayville Falls Mini Golf: This is a great place to play miniature golf. You can have birthday parties and water balloon fights. It has a fun, challenging golf course. Sayville Falls has amazing service. It has refreshments, snacks and candy. Besides golf, you can play soccer, baseball, lacrosse, basketball and other sports. It also has an arcade. Sayville Lanes: There are tons of things to do here. You can bowl, eat and hang out with your friends. There is an arcade. The games there are fun. They include Pac-Man and Zombie Rush. There is delicious pizza and fries and other snacks. At night the bowling alley glows, and if you wear glow-in-the-dark clothes, you will, too. The service there is great. It’s at 5660 Sunrise Hwy.
