Our Pennies for Pets fundraiser helped animals in a shelter
At the end of third grade, we started a fundraiser called Pennies for Pets. Pennies for Pets is about saving pets in need.
We collected milk cans and water bottle containers. We decorated them and gave each class a carton. We had the whole school bring in pennies for pets in need.
We went to an animal shelter and saw pets that were miserable, stuck in their cages with no beds, blanket or toys. That was what inspired us to do this wonderful fundraiser. We raised $240! After we raised all the money, we went to Petco and we bought treats, toys, blankets, bowls, towels and beds. We went to North Shore Animal League, based in Port Washington, 516-883-7575, or online at animalleague.org
