Halloween contest: Kids can compete to design UNICEF box

Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF, which encourages children to collect coins for the charity on Halloween in its signature boxes, is sponsoring a contest for kids to design the box that will be used at Halloween 2013.
Original designs for the “Create-a-Character” contest can be submitted online at trickortreatforunicef.org. Winning designs in three categories -- children ages 4-8, ages 9-12 and ages 13 and older -- will become part of a limited edition for Halloween next year. The contest runs Sept. 1 through Oct. 26, 2012. Winners will be announced on Halloween this year.

Trick-or-treat for UNICEF has raised more than $167 million in its 62 year history. The money is donated to children in need around the world. UNICEF stands for the United Nations Children's Fund. It provides health care and immunizations, clean water and sanitation, nutrition, education, emergency relief and more.
