"Hands-On Harley-Davidson" motorcycle exhibit comes to the Long Island Children's Museum

A new traveling exhibit called “Hands-On Harley Davidson” opens June 23 at the Long Island Children’s Museum in Garden City.
The exhibit, developed by the Betty Brinn Children’s Museum in Milwaukee in partnership with Harley-Davidson Motor Co., focuses on science, technology, engineering and math education, and runs through Sept. 2.
Visitors to the interactive exhibit learn about how engine parts work together and how acceleration, speed, friction and gravity affect a motorcycle in motion. They also role play to learn about traffic safety, hand signals and preparing for a trip.
The LICM has planned complementary workshops include Zooming with Color and Friction (July 24 and Aug. 28), Ready Set Go! (July 13 and Aug. 9) and Build-Your-Own Motorcycle (July 16 and Aug. 15).
The museum is at 11 Davis Ave., Garden City. Admission is $13 per adult and $12 per child until July 1, when the museum admission price increases to $14 per adult, $13 per child. Babies younger than 1 are free. For more information or to sign up for workshops, call 516-224-5800 or visit licm.org.
