If you're one of the many parents opting to buy your tot a tablet this Christmas and you're looking to fill it with some fun and educational apps, Travelzoo has a new one that's perfect.

Their "Map the World" app, which launched late last month, is aimed at teaching kids all about geography.

Kids can master states, countries and continents by completing vibrant jigsaw puzzles that are sure to keep them occupied.

“Map the World is the perfect tool to help children gain a better understanding of where they fit within the context of world geography,” said Chris Loughlin, chief executive of Travelzoo. “The puzzles create an ideal environment for parents to be directly involved in their child’s learning, as well as an opportunity to watch their amazement as they discover things like how big Asia is compared with the USA, and how many countries make up Africa.”

The "Map the World" app, available for free on iTunes, also allows you to get into the holiday spirit of giving. It includes an option to donate to Open Arms Malawi, a charity dedicated to supporting orphans in Malawi.
