The 10th annual Junie B. Jones Stupid Smelly Bus Tour — named for the first of the 28-book series — kicks off its six-week, 15-city run on Saturday at the Barnes & Noble Carle Place,  91 Old Country Rd., with shows at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tickets will be distributed starting at noon Friday. One book must be purchased at the store per child attending, and books start at $4.99. Each child may bring one additional book from home.

Kids will meet Junie B. Jones and her bus driver, Mr. Woo. Junie B. will “stamp” books, and there’ll be Junie B.-themed giveaways. The trademark pink bus will be parked in the book store lot.

The books are geared to kindergarten through second grade, and the event is recommended for children 5 and up.

Random House Children’s Books is also launching a “Got to Be . . . Junie B.! Kids’ Reading Club” for the summer at JunieBKidsClub.com. In June, parents who have signed up for the club will receive material, including a free copy of the book “Junie B. Jones and the Stupid Smelly Bus” and a reading log that includes activities, book list, stickers, member ID card, quotes and more. An online quiz enters the child into a sweepstakes to win a school visit from Junie B. and the Stupid Smelly Bus as part of the 2014 bus tour.
