‘Mummies’ exhibit opening at American Museum of Natural History
A new exhibition opens March 20 at the American Museum of Natural History in Manhattan — “Mummies” is one of the largest collections of mummies in North America, with mummies from ancient Egypt through pre-Columbian Peru.
Visitors to the exhibit will see how modern technology has transformed the study of mummification, with 3-D-printed figurines of burial items that were encased within mummy wrappings for millennia and see each mummy as an individual with a life story.
Tickets are $27 for adults and $16 for children and include general admission to the museum. The American Museum of Natural History is located at 79th Street and Central Park West. For more information, call 212-769-5200.
