On 'Cloud 9' with Disney's Dove Cameron

Kidsday reporters Shannon Muino, Kaela Piarulli, Lindsey Squires and Juliane Baco, all from East Lake Elementary School in Massapequa, met actress Dove Cameron on Monday. Dove stars as Kayla in the Disney movie "Cloud 9," which premieres tonight at 8 on the Disney Channel.
We asked Dove about her role and she told us, "Kayla finds out that she was never really good or as good as she thought she was with snowboarding and the only reason she was on the team was because her father owned the resort, which is sort of a big dramatic thought turn for Kayla. It sort of shows a really relatable emotional scene in which she talks to her father about not being as good as she thought she was, which is actually my favorite scene in the film." Kayla and her chief competitor, Will (Luke Benward), struggle when they find themselves working together. "Romance ensues and they sort of fall for each other," Dove said, " and that's where the movie picks up."
