We are excited to be a part of our school's Leadership Club. It is a fun after-school activity offered to fifth-graders. It is a volunteer club in which the students create activities that encourage school spirit and raise community awareness.

Leadership meets once a week throughout the school year to go over ideas and plan projects. For example, Leadership made the school's Halloween parade banner and thank-you cards to honor veterans on Veterans Day.

The club also came up with the idea for a School Spirit Day that occurs on the second Friday of every month. Each Spirit Day has a different theme, such as Pajama Day and Dress as Your Teacher Day.

During the winter months, we collected new pajamas and new books to be distributed to families in need. We feel good being a part of this. We like helping our friends, our school and our community.

Leadership reminds us to think of others and be helpful, kind, thoughtful and generous.

It is a fun way to spend time with our friends and it helps us build new friendships.
