Looking for things to do with the kids this weekend? From dinosaurs and fossils to archery lessons, Zumba classes and more, there are plenty of activities happening on Long Island. Here are my top five picks for family-friendly activities this weekend:

Archery for Children at Wertheim National Wildlife Refuge (340 Smith Rd., Shirley). Children ages 8 and older will learn how to shoot a bow and arrow on Saturday from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. All equipment is provided; adult supervision is required.

"Erth's Dinosaur Zoo Life" at Tilles Center (Route 25A, Brookville) on Saturday May 3 and Sunday, May 4 at 11 a.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Children ages 4 and up can journey through prehistoric Australia where they can help feed, water and care for dinosaurs on Saturday and Sunday at 11 a.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Price: $25.

Zumba Day at Long Island Science Center (11 W. Main St., Riverhead). On Saturday from noon-3 p.m., kids can participate in Zumba classes. Price: $5.

Family Adventures: Horseshoe Crab at Nissequogue River State Park (799 Saint Johnland Rd., Kings Park). Explore the lives of horseshoe crabs along the Nissequogue River and learn why they are living fossils on Sunday from 2-3:30 p.m. Price: $4 adults, $3 children, free for ages 3 and younger; $8 parking fee; reservations are required.

Fossil Finds at Maritime Explorium (101 E. Broadway, Port Jefferson). On Saturday and Sunday from 1-5 p.m., kids can create a fossil of a plant or creature that lived thousands of years ago. Price: $5.
