The wait is almost over.
Back in April, Alexander Wang appeared at Coachella to announce he was doing a capsule collection for H&M, starting the clock on his many fans' lustometers.
Now, after a star-studded launch/runway show at a Harlem gym, the line, the Swedish chain's first collaboration with a U.S. designer, is set to debut Thursday in select stores (yes, Roosevelt Field among them) and online.
The gym, it turns out, sent a clear message about the nature of this collection, with 38 pieces for women and 23 for men. These are clothes for urban warriors -- high tech looks with an athletic feel (though it's not sure anyone really wants to work out in leather sweatpants).
Coats in the line are especially strong, as in a quilted leather bomber for women, $349, and a man's embellished mid-thigh jacket, $199. There are basics like socks, $17.95, and bra tops, starting at $34.95. A couple of dresses, with different accessories of course, are more appropriate for parties than Pilates. Many of the pieces have hard-to-miss WANG or AW logos.
Not that you need us to tell you, but this stuff will go fast. So get to the store early . . . or just wait for it to show up on eBay.
