Jaguar's stylish 50th anniversary
The legendary Jaguar "E-type"--the kind with the cool bubble back and loooong hood...the automotive equivalent of a sexy Christian Louboutin slingback--celebrated its 50th anniversary at a blow-out gathering at the (Frank Gehry-designed) IAC Building in Manhattan on Wednesday night, packed with downtown pretty people (actress Megan Fox, for one) sipping Bombay Sapphire gin martinis and ogling Jags, Jags, Jags....
The cars were everywhere, from the eight classic models lined up on the street out front to the latest models inside, like the sleek, silver XKR convertible (starting at--mm hmm--$102,125).
Languorous models with scarves, sunglasses and short shorts were draped on platforms against backdrops of classic Jags from days of old, reminding us revelers that the Jag is not just an automobile but a state of mind. And a very fashionable way to express your personal style.
