We're standing at the wrap desk at Funky Monkey, the toy store at Wheatley Plaza in Greenvale and we heard the voice -- a little nasal, a lot Long Island -- before we saw the familiar face. "She recognizes the name of the book," exclaimed former housewife of New York, Jill Zarin proudly referring to toddler granddaughter Lila (from husband Bobby Zarin's daughter, both there).
Though hardly in her usual glam get up, (she looked good but wasn't even wearing makeup), Zarin, who seems all the doting grandma (lucky Lila) was happy to talk about her current projects. How's your shapewear line doing? "Great, I'm wearing it now," she said, hiking up her top (for real) to reveal a nude-colored camisole from her Skweez Couture collection. "I need it after all I ate at Thanksgiving." And she said, the line of body toners and trimmers will ship to Macy's real soon.
There are more projects to come said Zarin, though we were sworn to secrecy. But she previewed what's in store -- fun, not expensive -- and she didn't have to pull up her shirt to show us. Can you guess?
