Mazel tov! It’s marriage for Michael Kors
Will world-famous designer and "Project Runway" judge, Michael Kors, a born-and-bred Long Islander, have his wedding here? He’s not saying but it’s confirmed that Kors and longtime boyfriend Lance LePere received their marriage license at City Hall in Manhattan on Wednesday, Aug. 3.
In a statement, Kors said, “Lance and I are very excited to finally be able to have the opportunity to marry in our home state after many years together. We have no plans for a major party, but we will be getting married privately.”
The couple met in 1990 when LePere came to work for the company where he is now the creative director.
Kors, who was born in Mineola and grew up in Merrick, certainly knows how to throw a fabulous party. His 30th anniversary bash, held in Paris last March, was legendary, drawing the likes of Mary J. Blige and Jennifer Hudson. Will the big personality be able to keep a low profile for the day? We’ll have to wait and see as a source at the company says that Kors has no further comment on the impending nuptials.
