Nicole Miller riffs on menswear
Nicole Miller is swiping from her guy’s closet for fall. Not sure what he’ll be left with, but you’ll look solid, strong, sexy. And always feminine, whether you’re wearing one of her menswear-inspired jackets paired with a soft, gathered skirt, or a charcoal dress gently draped to one side.
It’s no Nicole show, of course, without the inventive, unstoppable prints, and there’s no way not to notice them here. Like the multicolor tartan plaid that looks like she ran it through a kaleidoscope, livening up a sheath dress, or a skirt paired with a chunky knit.
That kaleidoscope came in handy again when she warped herringbone, sending it in all directions on a fun, colorful skirt. She matched that up with a micro leopard-print shirt on one model, a gold sequin tee on another. Hey, in Nicole’s world, prints and textures are made to be mixed.
And who needs tattoos when you have her tatooage pattern in your wardrobe? It evokes a fun, retro feel, and looks great on a silk shirt worn with leather pants and what we’re calling a “Wild Thing” shearling vest. The vest, cut with sort of swirling lapels and edges, doesn’t seem quite tamed yet. Just like you, right?
