Witches Night Out shopping crawls come to Cold Spring Harbor and Northport

Witches will roam Main Street in Cold Spring Harbor on Oct. 24 for the 15th year during the annual Witches Night Out shopping event in celebration of Halloween. The evening is all about fun, wearing costumes, dining, shopping, deals and getting into the spirit.

"Ninety-nine percent of the people dress up as witches, whether it’s a hat to full makeup," says Ashley Allegra, director of marketing for Lucky to Live Here Realty, behind the festive event that attracts people of all ages. 

The one-night shopping spooktacular features discounts and giveaways at area restaurants and boo-tiques. Shoppers will also get 10% off purchase plus refreshments at Willow Boutique and free class passes at Rock Pilates. Head to Sandbar for complimentary appetizers at the bar and a witches brew margarita special and spooky spirits, small plates menu and live music at Grassos. To ensure a table, make reservations at local eateries.

Candy for trick-or-treaters will be given out at all participating stores. Kids can also get free cotton candy at Living, henna designs at Harbor Gardens and their face-painted at Pashley Children's Boutique. Witches can expect plenty of photo-ops and giveaways at Lucky to Live Here Realty. Head to Sweetie Pies' courtyard where you can spin the wheel for a gift at the Whaling Museum pop-up.

"We have maps at Lucky to Live Here to show everyone what all the stores are offering," says Allegra. "This year we’re going to give some out to the stores, so people will get the offerings before they start shopping."

Over in Northport, Signature Premier Properties hosts Witches and Warlocks Night Out on Oct. 23.

Participating witches and warlocks should start out at Signature’s office at 180 Main St.

The not-so-frightful fun in Northport includes a gift and raffle with purchase, plus sweets and sips at Nest on Main and discounts at Jewelry Collection and More, Bohemiac Boutique, Fame and Rebel and Winter Brook, Psychic Medium.

"They pick up a shopping bag that has a list of all the discounts that the merchants are providing for that night," says Deborah Dooley, manager of Signature Premier Properties’ Northport office. "Restaurants provide discounts and happy hours. There are sales, raffles. There’s a lot going on."
