Feral cat spay, neuter program extended in Islip
Islip Town Board members on Tuesday approved a one-year extension for a program that traps, neuters and releases feral cats.
The effort has neutered 700 cats since its inception in late 2016, town officials said.
The program exists through a memorandum of understanding between the town and the Locust Valley-based Animal Lovers League.
The effort is funded entirely through donations to the league.
