Cut-your-own Christmas tree farms on Long Island

For many families, cutting the perfect tree is an annual tradition. Be prepared for the holiday tradition by wearing warm clothes, gloves and a sturdy pair of walking shoes for the trek through rows of trees. Many farms provide handsaws, or you can bring your own.
CARTER CHRISTMAS TREE FARM

- Trees Pine, spruce and fir ranging from 3 to 9 feet tall. Bring a handsaw or borrow one at the farm. No chain saws. Bring a rope to fasten your tree to your vehicle.
