When families walk into the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts on March 21, they will be transported to 123 Sesame Street. They may hear kids and grown-ups humming along to the classic tune, "sunny day, sweepin’ the clouds away," as "Sesame Street Live" comes to the theater for the first time.
The musical adventure follows Elmo, and his puppy, Tango, in a game of hide-and-seek. “‘Sesame Street’ is an iconic, beloved brand with a long history," says Michele Rizzo-Berg, the executive director of the Patchogue Theatre. “‘Sesame Street Live’ is big on educational themes, like literacy, social skills and emotional understanding."

The theater wanted to bring a family-friendly show with interactive elements to the stage that children may find engaging and "encourage them to participate," she says. She notes that "the show is designed for children and families, so it's an ideal choice for theaters that want to attract younger audiences."
Attendees can sing along to classics and new songs during the production like "Sunny Days," "Say Hello," "C is for Cookie," "Letter of the Day" and "I Love Trash."
