Any restaurant can offer morning food in the morning, but how many serve it during the hours you really need it, by which I mean 2 p.m., 6 in the evening, and the wee hours? The following eight establishments don’t pretend for a second that eggs and bacon are merely a sunrise thing. For them, any hour is good to break the fast. After all, it’s always morning somewhere.

Morning Rose Cafe (317 Bedford Ave., Bellmore): "Gourmet breakfast all day," reads the website, and the accompanying menu delivers on that promise, offering such specialties as a gnocchi breakfast bowl and roasted red pepper avocado toast, as well as a host of omelets, benedicts, waffles and pancakes. Lunch may also be ordered after 11:30, and includes such favorites as Mexican street corner chowder and a monster grilled cheese sandwich. More info: 516-221-5010, morningrosecafe.com
