A popular Upper West Side destination for kosher burgers and more, Amsterdam Burger Co. has recently debuted a new location in Cedarhurst.

Doors opened a week before New Year’s, and it is still in the middle of a “soft opening,” says chef and co-owner Mike Gershkovich. “We’re very proud of the burger that we serve. It’s cooked a la minute, not held warm, the meat is never frozen. We make all of our patties in-house.”

The same freshness extends to the chicken, he says, which “has never seen the inside of a freezer.” You won’t find any cheeseburgers on the strictly kosher menu, but you will find burgers topped with guacamole ($16), mushrooms, caramelized onions, and garlic-caper sauce ($17), and pickled beets ($15). Turkey burgers and veggie burgers ($14) round out the options.

Specialty sandwiches include seared tuna steak ($21) and BBQ pulled beef ($17).

The restaurant is open Monday to Wednesday, 4 to 10 p.m.; Thursday, 4 to 11 p.m. and Sunday noon to 10 p.m., and Saturday nights after sundown this winter.

Amsterdam Burger Co. is located at 490 Chestnut St., Cedarhurst, 646-668-3159, amsterdamburger.com
