Venturing into Chinese, Korean, Thai, Malaysian, Japanese and Indonesian culinary territory: the new JR Asian Fusion & Lounge, now cooking in the former Long Beach digs of Paninis & Bikinis.

Unlike the majority of fusion spots springing up all over Long Island, this one doesn't have a sushi bar.

On the menu: hot and sour, wonton, Korean kimchee and tom yum soups, rock shrimp with spicy mayonnaise and chicken satay. There's also roast pork fried rice, pad Thai, lo mein and udon noodles. And it wouldn't be a proper Asian restaurant without General Tso's chicken.

Other options include Thai basil duck, salt and pepper jumbo shrimp, chicken with Malaysian sambal sauce, salmon teriyaki and, the costliest item, at $18.75, Peking duck.

JR Asian Fusion & Lounge is at 896 W. Beech St., Long Beach, 516-544-2700
