Bagel Factory closes in Farmingdale
Bagel Factory, a spacious gourmet bagel shop situated in a corner spot in the Airport Plaza parking lot in Farmingdale, has closed abruptly, according to a Jan. 5 Facebook post on owner Mike Borruso's personal page.
In the post, Borruso thanked customers for "an amazing 15 years of business," but said it was "time for new beginnings" and opportunities.
Borruso also shut down rumors that the shop closed due to an expansion of neighboring Stew Leonard's. "It’s false," he wrote. "Stew Leonard and his management and entire staff has been nothing more than an asset to the community and shopping center."
Customers could grab a booth and dine in, or get take out at the popular shop, which turned out much more than just bagels, including baked goods, burgers, wings, salads, hot and cold sandwiches, and wraps.
