Big Daddy's in Massapequa: New Orleans' heat
The countdown continues at Big Daddy's: 157 days till Mardi Gras.
But this spirited Cajun-Creole-barbecue spot always is poised to celebrate and give you a taste of New Orleans.
The menu changes daily but the quality doesn't. You'll be happy to find husky andouille sausage-and-smoked pork gumbo as well as brown-sauced crawfish étouffée; fired-up jambalaya and broiled oysters under a horseradish-and-Gruyere crust; and any combination of pulled pork, barbecued brisket and baby back ribs.
Big Daddy's is a colorful mainstay, from the floor tiles to the plates celebrating the movies of Elvis Presley, an LSU banner to one for the Saints. It's full-flavored fun.
